Overview of youth training
2021 October-December training on prevention topics for youth were intensively held at Birzai, Kedainiai and Anyksciai District schools.
Birzai District Municipality
At Birzai District schools: At Vabalninkas Balys Sruoga Gymnasium and Birzai Atzalynas Basic School on October 18, October 22 and October 26, 2021, lecturer Tatjana Sciurina provided distance training on the prevention of psychoactive substance use, on October 20 and October 25, 2021 – on alcohol prevention. 86 students listened to this topic.
At Birzai Saules Gymnasium and Birzai School of Technology and Business, lecturers Karolina Puzinaite and Algimantas Andrijauskas conducted preventive training on the topic of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. The training took place both remotely and by contact. 6 groups of 105 students were formed to listen to this topic. The training focused on the sexual life of young people, sexual health and the consequences of sexually transmitted infections. Lecturers were also talking about family planning methods, responsible attitudes towards parenthood, preventive measures, unplanned pregnancies, physical and psychological consequences, and the value of human life.
On Novemner 17 and on December 1 and 3, 2021, psychologist Zaneta Tauriene conducted preventive training on sexual preventiom at Birzai Saule Gymnasium. On 8 and 15 December, 2021, training on the same topic was conducted at the Exchange School of Technology and Business. The training covered the concept and forms of violence, the scale of the problem, the reactions to sexual violence at different ages, the harassment of children and adolescents, the dangers of online trafficking, and human trafficking. Participants were introduced to the possibilities of help. 115 students participated in the training.
Anyksciai District Municipality:
On October 29, 2021, at Anyksciai District Kavarskas Basic School-multifunctional center lecturer Karolina Puzinaite provided distance training on sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. 17 students participated.
Further training on this topic is planned on January, 2022.
Kėdainiai District Municipality:
On October 20, 2021, at Kedainiai J. Paukstelis Progymnasium, on October 25, 2021, at Surviliskis V. Svirskis Basic School, on October 26, 2021, at Krakiai M. Katkus Gymnasium and on October 27, 2021, at Kedainiai District Municipal Academy Gymnasium lecturer Algimantas Andrijauskas provided contart training on sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. 89 students participated.
On December 9, 2021, at Kedainiai District Seta Gymnasium, on December 13, 2021, at Kedainiai Vocational Training Center and on December 16, 2021, at Kedainiai District Municipal Academy Gymnasium lecturer Edita Ivinkina provided preventive training on sexual violence. 59 students participated.
Next year such topics will also be provided for youth: Suicide and self-harm prevention; Prevention of overweight and obesity related disorders; Prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies; Prevention of the use of psychoactive substances; Alcohol use prevention; Depression prevention; Prevention of sexual violence; Prevention of eating disorders.
